8th medal of the series 75th anniversary of Lucky Luke.
The series includes Jolly Jumper, Rantanplan, Calamity Jane, the Grave Digger, the Dalton Brothers, Ma Dalton, Joe Dalton, Billy the Kid, Lucky Luke and Morris & Lucky Luke.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the fastest trigger in the West, the Monnaie de Paris launches in 2021 a collection of colourful mini-medals to the characters figures from Morris' comic strip. 

A hot-tempered, temperamental kid, Billy the Kid became famous very early in his career as a bandit by attacking a stage coach at the age of 5... A lover of hot chocolate and cream cakes, he forbids the bartender in his village to serve anything else. Terrorizing the population, feared by the worst desperados, his reputation for cruelty is well known.

Translating comic book characters is an interesting but perilous exercise. The transition from comic strip to volume must faithfully transcribe the clear line of Morris and Achdé's work. These medals are the faithful representation of a graphic line proper to the Franco-Belgian artist, it is a tribute in three dimensions paid by the craftsmen of Monnaie de Paris to the universe of Lucky Luke.
