Description
Canadian Colonial Tokens
A chronic shortage of circulating legal tender to support commerce forced provincialgovernments, chartered banks and merchants to devise their own circulating coinage for commerce up to Confederation in 1867.
The tokens found in the catalogue are described by composition, weight, diameter, die axis, edge annd date of issue. The accompanying illustrations and flow charts, in particularly complicated issues, will assist the collector in assigning a catalogue number to each token. The Charlton numbering system in cross-referenced with the Breton, Courteau, LeRoux, McLachlan, Wood and Willey systems, and Batty, Breton and LeRoux rarity numvers are included.
With increasing interest in Canadian colonial tokens at auctions, the updated catalogue listings and prices will greatly assist the collector in assessing value.
A CHARLTON STANDARD CATALOGUE - CANADIAN COLONIAL TOKENS 2024 (11TH EDITION) is categorised COINS AND PAPER MONEY / 02- CATALOGS and sold by l'Imaginaire, a store and specialised website.
