Description
This fine silver Proof Dollar contains 99.99% silver. It has a diameter of 36.07 millimeters and weighs 25.175 grams. Designed by canadian artist John Mardon, the coin depicts a typical headframe, a silver vein and the legendary fox. The obverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. It has been expertlystruck by the Royal Canadian Mint and is limited to 125 000 coins worldwide.

L'histoire du renard et des mines d'argent de Cobalt | |
Avant que ne soit exploité les 100 mines d'argent de cette petite bourgade du nord de l'Ontario, Cobalt était un petit village sans histoire. Un forgeron travaillait à sa forge et vis un renard (d'autres dirons que c'était un lièvre) passé tout près. Le forgeron lança son marteau manqua la petite bête et son marteau percuta une pierre, qui se cassa durant l'impacte. L'homme alla récupérer son marteau et examina la pierre cassé qui étaient plein de minerai d'argent. |
