The Royal Canadian Mint’s Wildlife Reflections series of contemplative portraits concludes with the most serene scene yet. A proud symbol of the Canadian wilderness, the moose inhabits the boreal forest that stretches from Newfoundland in the east to British Columbia in the west, and north to the Arctic treeline. A male moose’s antlers and imposing size (up to two metres tall at the shoulders) make it a sight to behold as it nobly, and quietly, wades in water – as it does on Coin #3, where the tranquil fall scene taps into the Canadian spirit and captures the undeniable majesty of our wild spaces.
