Raye Montague: United States Navy Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate (Arkansas) "P"
This dollar is the first in 2025 and 25th overall in the American Innovation series.
The American Innovation $1 series will run for several years and honor innovations and innovators by producing a $1 coin for each state: the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands. This series has an uncirculated finish and is minted in Philadelphia and Denver.
The Arkansas coin features Raye Montague visualizing a U.S. Navy Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate, a ship she computer-designed. The grid pattern over the sea evokes the engineering and drafting techniques she digitized to realize her design. The inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ARKANSAS," and "RAYE MONTAGUE."
The obverse of the American Innovation $1 coins features a dramatic profile view of the Statue of Liberty with the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "$1. The obverse also features a privy mark of a stylized gear, representing industry and innovation.
The year of minting or issue, the mint mark, and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" are inlaid on the coin's edge.
