In the midst of winter, Quebec City is transformed into a winter wonderland. The crisp air radiates with the warmth of deeply-rooted Quebecois traditions such as sugar shacks, dogsled races, and the legendary canoe race across the mighty St.-Lawrence. Winter games, snow sculptures, and art exhibits abound at every turn.
At night, the sky is ablaze with colour as the carnival's famous night parades take to the streets and the celebrated ice castle glitters under the magic of electric lights.

Officiated by Bonhomme, the snowman who comes to life each year to become the carnival's ambassador, the Québec Winter Carnival has sparked a worldwide love affair withall that is Nordic.
