Maple Leaves with Queen Elizabeth II Effigy (1990)
The glorious Canadian maple and our beloved Sovereign, HerMajesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada – two icons that for more than sixty years have symbolized our country and our collectivesense of identity. The Royal Canadian Mint proudly celebrates the remarkable reign of our Queen with a new series featuring the four effigies of Her Majesty that have appe ared on Canadian circulated coinage since 1953.
This coin is the third issue of the Effigies collection.
The first coin of the series, released in September 2014, depicts the Queen Elizabeth II (effigy of 1953).
The second coin of the series, released in February 2015, depicts the Queen Elizabeth II (effigy of 1965).
The third coin of the series, released in September 2015, depicts the Queen Elizabeth II (effigy of 1990).
The fourth and the last coin of the series, released in February 2016, depicts the Queen Elizabeth II (effigy of 2003).
