Description
Carolinian Tulip-Tree
The Carolinian forest zone is located in the southern most region of Ontario, between Windsor and Toronto, extending east along the shore of Lake Ontario to Bellville, and north to Goderich. Every spring, it bursts into bloom with large tulip-like flowers that grow on the tulip-tree (Liriodendron tulipifera); a stunning, fast-growing tree that grows up to 35 metres tall.
This coin is the first issue of the Forests of Canada collection.
The first coin of the series, released in March 2015, depicts the Carolinian Tulip-Tree.
The second coin of the series, released in May 2015, depicts the Coast Shore Pine.
The third coin of the series, released in July 2015, depicts the Columbia Yew Tree.
The fourth and the last coin of the series, released in September 2015, depicts the Boreal Balsam Poplar.
