French Excellence 2022 10€ silver Coin
Louvre Museum
This coin is part of the series French Excellence.
The series includes different coins each year.
In 2022, Monnaie de Paris in association with the Louvre Museum will propose an exclusive collection combining their know-how.
Symbol of French Excellence, these two neighboring age-old institutions, located on either bank of the Seine, belong to French history.
In order to celebrate both the 200th anniversary of the deciphering of hieroglyphs and the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun, Monnaie de Paris has partnered with the Louvre Museum to offer an exceptional collection on the theme of the Treasures of Egypt.
This coin in the shape of the great sphinx of Tanis perfectly reproduce the statue in the Louvre Museum. The inscription "1822-2022" refers to the 200th anniversary of the deciphering of hieroglyphs.
The reverse depicts the gold encrusted bronze case that once belonged to Divine worshipper Shepenupet. The central axis depicts the status of the God Amun watching over the young Tutankhamun. The Pyramid, a timeless link between yesterday's and today's heritage, adorns the bottom of the reverse, and proudly displays the cartouches of Tutankhamun. The face value is present in the centre of the coin as well as the word RF. The reverse side bears the mintmark of Joaquin Jimenez.
FRENCH EXCELLENCE - LOUVRE MUSEUM - 2022 FRANCE COINS is categorised COINS AND PAPER MONEY / 13- MONNAIE DE PARIS / 01- FINE SILVER and sold by l'Imaginaire, a store and specialised website.

10 euros en argent, musée du louvre | |
Un peu déçu de la présentation dans une rondelle. J’aurais préféré quelque chose de plus sophistiqué comme un présentoir qui moule la pièce. |
