1976 Uncirculated Proof-Like Set
It was in 1953that the uncirculated proof-like sets were released. From 1953 to 1960, these sets were wrapped in a simple cellophane sheet and placed on a plain white sheet of paper. In 1961, the Royal Canadian Mint decidedto alter the packaging. The new sets were to be sealed in between 2 sheets of pliofilm and placed inside a protective envelope. This form of packaging is still being used today. Throughout the years, certain modifications were made in the presentation of the products. The coins shown in the uncirculated proof-like sets are identical to the ones released to the public during their respective years. However, the coinschosen for these sets have been carefully inspected and are thereforedefect free.
Two varieties are available on the 1976 1-dollar coin. On the crown of the Queen, we can find the jewels at the top to be either attached or detached.
This set is part of the Uncirculated Proof-Like Sets collection.
