Winter's warmth
Oh, the great Canadian Winter! It's a season that has fascinated people since explorer's first accounts started making their way to Europe centuries ago.
Homsteaders demonstrated boundless fortitude and adaptability as the faced the challenges ofpioneer life in winter. They adopted First Nations practices and implements; snowshoes were essential if one had hope of getting anywhere in snow that quickly bame hip-deep!

Neighbours would gather to slideon frozen lakes or down hills on toboggans; they'd build snowmen and battle each other in snowball fights; always aware of the glowing firethat wwas waiting for them when they finally returned home - a special wintry comfort that continues to warm hearts to this day.
