Description
The large anti-mine helicopter is in service with various special units of the USNAVY and JSDAF. The “Sea Dragon” is a 3-engine version of the twin-engine CH 53, which entered service in the 1960s and was widely used by the Marines and also by USAIRFORCE for special rescue missions (Italeri 035 kit). Thanks to the extraordinary power of its engines, this helicopter has ample capacity to carry the heavy anti-mine systems mounted on special hydrofails that are dropped into the sea to detect mines.
