Kenner released 31 amazing figures for their Return of the Jedi line from 1983 to 1984 , along with their accessories, vehicles and playsets. This brought the total number of Star Wars figures to 79 for all three movies. Kenner did a good job of giving us new likenesses and outfits for our fan favorites, while still creating new and interesting characters to re-create our favorite movie scenes. Since the first wave of figures was released in advance of the actual movie, Lucasfilm had asked Kenner to keep the images of the Ewok figures blacked out on the figure card backs to keep their appearance a secret.
