Courage and heroism are always worth celebrating, and in the 50 years since Canada’s Medal of Bravery was first established in 1972, nearly 3,300 valiant souls have been honoured for courageous actions that impacted Canada or Canadians. From intervening in an attack to rescuing people from a submerged car, their “acts of bravery in hazardous circumstances” qualify these ordinary people displaying extraordinary courage as everyday heroes among us. Their selflessness is one of our great strengths and they have earned this nation’s gratitude and admiration, as well as one of Canada’s top honours for courage: the Medal of Bravery, which is highlighted on this 99.99% pure silver coin in honour of its 50th anniversary.

 A captivating mix of colour and engraving. Crafted in 1 o.z of 99.99% pure silver, each coin features an engraved design that beautifully replicates some of the Medal of Bravery’s distinctive elements, including its maple leaf insignia and inscription. A textured colour application captures the look and feel of another important feature : the ribbon issued with every medal.
 A Canadian celebration of courage. This coin proudly represents a celebration of courage and heroism, and an expression of gratitude to those willing to risk their lives to save or protect another.
 Authentic details. The medal’s design elements have been combined in a unique way to fit on the coin’s reverse, but each one has been rendered based on technical drawings by Cathy Bursey-Sabourin, Principal Artist and Fraser Herald at the Canadian Heraldic Authority. Even the inscription, “BRAVERY BRAVOURE”, is engraved in the same font used on the medal.
 Low mintage. Only 6,000 are available to collectors worldwide.
