And in the wild mountain forest of the Yukon, British Columbia, and even northern Ontario, he is (pronouced sas-kwatch). Althought we don't knowmuch about our Canadian ape-man, there are lots of people who claim to have seen him or his massive footprint. They say he stand more than three mertes (ten feet) tall and weight 227 kilos (500lb.)! He's also described as hairy, strong, stinky and very fast.
Is Sasquatch just a myth? His size is very close to that of a bear standing on its hind legs - could Sasquatch really be a bear mistaken for an ape-man.
This coin is the second issue of the Canadian Mythical Creatures collection.
The first coin of the series,released in April 2011, depicts the Sasquatch.
The second coin of the series, released in July 2011, depicts the Memphre.
The third and the last coin of the series, released in October 2011, depicts the Mishepishu.

| Comme je suis amateur de collections numismatiques, la Monnaie royale canadienne a émis une pièce de la série Créatures Mythiques Du Canada représentant le fameux Yéti (appelé Sasquatch en Amérique). Je me devais de me la procurer à titre de référence au Yéti (même créature mythique) de Tintin au Tibet. Elle vient dans une carte en couleur où l’on raconte l’histoire captivante du Sasquatch; un plan escamotable indique même l’endroit de sa dernière apparition. Comme toute pièce de la Monnaie Royale Canadienne, celle-ci se démarque par sa qualité. |
