Description
Chinese Calender 2022 1/4€ Coin
Year of the Tiger
1st coin of the series Chinese Calender.
The series includes one coin each year with their specific sign since 2022.
The Chinese Calendar series presents a new animal every year. The year 2022 is dedicated to the Tiger. It's an excellent gift for those born in the Year of the Tiger (1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010 and 2022). This year, if someone is born between February 1, 2022 and January 21, 2023, they are of this sign.
The tiger is the third sign of the zodiac, and an earth sign. It is considered as brave, fighting and powerful but also cruel, vindictive and terrifying. The Tiger symbolises power and solitude. In the past, people often compared emperors and high dignitaries to this animal.
Surrounded by plum blossom, a symbol much used in Chinese history and art, and lanterns, The Tiger is depicted on the coin. The ideogram of the tiger appears on the left side of his representation. The year date and the inscription 'Year of the Tiger' appear at the top of the coin.
On the reverse side, all the animals of the Chinese zodiac are drawn around the Ying and Yang symbol. From 2018 to 2029, there is a complete cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Each of these twelve years features an animal from this calendar. The face value is visible in the center of the coin as well as the symbol "RF".
