1977 Custom Set - Full water lines, detached jewels
The "custom" set contains one coin of each denomination, with an extra cent to show the observe in a vinyl-covered case.
The finish of the coins is identical to the corresponding year of brilliant uncirculated (BU). However, since the coins are not protected in this case, it is possible that people have manipulated the coins or the coins can be toned.
This set is also name SpecimenDouble Penny Set.
After the alteration of the matrix used to produce the 1977 1 dollar coin, a new matrix, slightly different than the original, was created. This created 2 different alterations, onesituated at the top of the queen’s crown and the other in the water lines situated in front of the canoe. In regards to the alteration of the crown, we can find the jewels at the top to be either attached or detached. As for the water lines in front of the canoe they can either be short or full. When combining all the alterations we find that there are 3 different varieties that were produced for the 19771 dollar coin : Attached Jewels + Short Water Lines, Detached Jewels + Full Water Lines and Detached Jewel + Short Water Lines.
This set is part of the "Custom" set which have been released between 1971 and 1980.
