Albertosaurus
This magnificent coin produced by the Royal Canadian Mint celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Canada's only museum dedicated exclusively to the science of palaeontology. The coin features the carnivorous Albertosaurus, a close relative of Tyrannosaurus rex which lived a few million years later.
This card contains a lenticular 50-cent coin representing the Albertosaurus and six collectable cards on dinosaurs : the Hypacrosaurus, the Tyrannosaurus rex, the Centrosaurus, the Struthiomimus, the Mosasaurus and the Royal Tyrrell Museum.
This coin is the second of the Dinosaur exhibit collection.
The first coin of the series, released in May 2010, depicts the Daspletosaurus torosus.
The second coin of the series,released in July 2010, depicts the Albertosaurus.
The third and the last coin ofthe series, released in September 2010, depicts the Sinosauropteryx.
