The crest bears the Gryffindor lion on the shield in the centre, which features the house colours of red and gold. A scroll at the bottom is engraved with the name ‘Gryffindor’ in red. The beautifully engraved surround has a mirrored and frosted finish for contrast.

The Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II can be found on the obverse of the coin to confirm it as a legal tender, even with its unique shape and colouring. The coin has a protective acrylic case to allow for handling of this precious house token.
