1966 Uncirculated Proof-Like Set
It was in 1953 that the uncirculated proof-like sets were released. From 1953 to 1960, these sets were wrapped in a simple cellophane sheet and placed on a plain white sheet of paper. In 1961, the Royal Canadian Mint decided to alter the packaging. The new sets were to be sealed in between 2 sheets of pliofilm and placed inside a protective envelope. This form of packagingis still being used today. Throughout the years, certain modifications were made in the presentation of the products. The coins shown in the uncirculated proof-like sets are identical to the ones released to the public during their respective years. However, the coins chosen forthese sets have been carefully inspected and are therefore defect free.
