ROYAL TOUR OF CANADA
The king and queen arrived by ship in Quebec City and travelled west by rail, accompanied throughout their journey by Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie. There had been previous royal tours of Canada, but this was unprecedented in its scope. The tour was an enormous event, attracting huge crowds at each new city.The visit lasted from May 17 to June 15, covering every Canadian province.

Design:
The coin reverse design features King George VI and Queen Elizabeth at centre with a colour Canadian landscape behind. The iconic Canadian Maple leaf is a feature of the design, combining the Modern Graphic leaf with a more realistic border. The Coat of Arms shield as at 1939 and commemorative inscriptions. The CircleBorder represents the train journeys taken across Canada. The obverse design features the symbols of the United Kingdom - the rose (England), thistle (Scotland), leek (Wales), and Shamrock (Ireland).

Packaging:
Each coin is encapsulated and housed in a prestige presentation box with numbered certificate of authenticity and custom made outer.
