This unique 2004 Test Token set is a manufacturing tribute to the world's first coloured circulation coin. As far back as 1907, test tokens have been used during the various stages of production to ensure a flawless final product. Test tokens areutilized for die and die coating testing, for plating process modifications, for dimensional testing, for material tolerance, for the edge profile process, for coin collars, for the conformity of the electro -magnetic signature in coins, as well as for other uses. Test tokens have been officially offered by the Royal Canadian Mint only in 1996 to commemorate the introduction of the two dollar coin andin 2000 to commemorate the introduction of the newly plated circulation coins. The 2004 Test Token Set includes the 1-cent, 5-cent, 10 - cent, one dollar and two dollar test tokens. It also includes the test token for the 2004 coloured Poppy Coin 25-cent) plus, an actual Coloured Poppy 25-cent coin. Only 10,000 complete sets have been produced.
