Each coin captures a contemplative moment in the wild and highlights each species’ awe-inspiring qualities, reflecting their majesty alongside the grandeur of the Canadian wilderness. Coin #2 is an opportunity to enjoy a quiet, close encounter with Puma concolor, Canada’s largest wild cat. The cougar is steady on its feet, and while this secretive forest-dweller may roam at any time, it tends to be most active from dusk until dawn—a fact that is reflected in the stunning sunset recreated on this coin’s reverse, which elicits reverence for the enigmatic big cat.
