America in the 19th century: You are a rancher and repeatedly herd your cattle from Texas to Kansas City, where you send them off by train. This earns you money and victory points. Needless to say, each time you arrive in Kansas City, you want to have your most valuable cattle in tow. However, the "Great Western Trail" not only requires that you keep your herd in good shape, but also that you wisely use the various buildings along the trail. Also, it might be a good idea to hire capable staff: cowboys to improve your herd, craftsmen to build your very own buildings, or engineers for the important railroad line.
If you cleverly manage your herd and navigate the opportunities and pitfalls of Great Western Trail, you surely will gain the most victory points and win the game.

| I've never really played the original version of this game, only second edition, but I like the art a lot more in this version and the gameplay changes are slightly different in a positive way. The art and tightness of the game design makes it one of my favorites. | |

| Un de mes jeu préféré! J'aime le thème ainsi que le fait que le coté "deck builder" ne prenne pas toute la place. La 2nd édition ne change pas grand chose, ce qui démontre que la 1ere était déjà bien. |

| Ce jeu est vraiment fantastique. Un de mes favoris. La nouvelle édition est plus jolie. Assez simple à apprendre, petit deck-building, déplacement de personnages sur une piste, un peu de hasard. Beaucoup de plaisir! | |

| It's a solid game .. I've played about 4 games now and while I get the rules etc I've still not figured out the best order to do things to optimize my performance so that's a good thing cause it takes time to get good at this one. | |

Étant un amoureux de la première édition, je n'ai pas eu d'autre choix que d'acquérir cette seconde édition, sans regret... je recommande ! | |

| Je n'avais pas vu la première édition de ce jeu mais celle-ci est juste magnifique. Je joue solo et Sam (IA) est très bon joueur. Beaucoup d'actions à poser et rejouabilité excellente. Seul bémol, le livre de règles est de papier mince et fragile. | |

| Ce qui m’a inciter à acheter ce jeux est que j’ai le jeu Maracaibo du même auteur et j’aime beaucoup. Je pense que celui-ci est encore meilleur. J’attendais cet édition avec impatience et je suis vraiment content. Il est bien fait et vient avec un insert dans la boîte. Évidemment, les cartes sleevées n’ont pas été pris en compte. | |

| Complex version of monopoly, fun | |
| The game adjusts the cattle on the hand through the house execution effect, and then transports the different cattle to the end point. The rules and actions are simple, and the difficulty lies only in recognizing the icons. The game offers three types of workers: Cowboys, architects, and engineers; each has three different routes and the differences are large enough. But the game is difficult to have a fixed routine, the real will play will be mutual card. In the end you have me, I have you, so interaction is enough. High degree of freedom of the game, whether it is buying the decision-making, or the whole circle of planning and so on, let a person have a choice quite a lot of feeling. The game total circle number is fixed, own game rhythm can also affect others to be interesting! Generally speaking, it is a game with a strong desire to open more. |

| Un excellent jeu - Bémol sur la 2e édition | |
| Le jeu GWT demeure un excellent jeu, toujours un favori depuis le lancement de la version initiale. À ce chapitre, le choix de ce jeu est fortement conseillé, quoiqu'il faut admettre qu'il s'agit d'un jeu assez complexe, qui s'adresse et plaira davantage à des joueurs plus habitués et pourrait au contraire décourager des joueurs débutants. J'ai toutefois une réserve sur le prix assez élevé. J'aurais aimé que la 2e édition soit une édition "big box" qui inclut l'extension Rails to the North. Autre point négatif, la conception de l'insert de plastique qui doit en théorie contenir les pièces et faciliter le rangement est en réalité très mal conçu et ne permet pas de fermer la boite. Mais bravo pour les sacs de tissus pour les pieces 1, 2 et 3. C'est effectivement facile de les ranger et d'en faire aussi la pige en cours de partie. | |

| Premièrement, il faut donner une mention spéciale pour les petits meeples avec les chapeaux de cowboys !! J'apprécie que le jeu offre une version solo. Le matériel est de qualité et le jeu offre une bonne rejouabilité, je recommande! | |

| A la base d’un « vieux » jeu la ré-édition est tout simplement parfait. Que ce soit le matériel ou le visuel rien à redire. Vous serez transporter dans l’univers western sans contredit. Les différentes étapes pour agrandir votre troupeau, bâtir vos bâtiments tout y est. Tout en étant stratégique vous aurez des heures de plaisir ! | |

| Un jeu de déplacement d'ouvrier et de placement de tuile qui a une mise en place tres rapide et avec une tres bonne rejouabilité . Les regles tres simple à apprendre mais avec une profondeur exceptionnel . Bref je le recommande au joueur moins expérimentés et aux autres. | |
