Description

The year is 1947 and you are a member of the thriving movie-making industry of Hollywood. However, it is suspected that there are communists hiding among your small production studio slipping “un-Patriotic” messages, themes, props, and lines into your movies! Will you be able to find all the communists before your studio is shut down? Or will you be suspected yourself and banned from the industry?

Great Production, Interesting Social Game
Part of a series of "book" games ("Dark Cities" by Facade Games). Fantastic production values in a relatively small box. Great art cards, fictional movie posters, etc.

Players are secretly assigned 1 of 3 "teams." Each team tries to sway a movie production to their team's political interest. Selected team members secretly play a card from their hand to sway the movie. Figuring out which side people are on isn't necessary to win, but it helps to know who to allow to sway each movie.

Cool theming, but abstract mechanics could be applied to almost any theme. Some elements are complex and could take practice for a group to learn. There's a solo mode, which the rulebook wasn't very clear on, but it works OK (the deduction element is replaced with random cards that could help or hurt your team's goal - .you use mechanics to try to maintain control).

Bon jeu
