Description
Take on the role of Egyptian nobles in the time of the pharaohs, preparing for death and burial in the Valley of the Kings. Players want to fill their tombs with food, canopic jars, statues, amulets and other treasures, and to do so they acquire cards that are laid out in the shape of a pyramid. Purchase cards at the base of the pyramid, and it "crumbles" to bring cards higher in the pyramid to the base where they can be bought. The pyramid resets each round with new offerings.
You score only cards that you remove from your deck and stash in your tomb, so if you keep using valuable cards for their effects and don't entomb them before the game ends, you could lose out on big points! Whoever collects the most valuable artifacts in their tomb wins.
Valley of the Kings: Premium Edition includes all the cards from the three previously released games (Valley of the Kings, Afterlife, Last Rites), plus the components needed to play with a fifth and sixth player. It also includes rules for solo play, and dividers for all the cards. The components are upgraded to 300+ tarot-sized cards.

| If you're a big fan of the original, this premium edition is right up your alley. Lovely card artwork on Dixit-sized cards. Comes with nice, thick protective card sleeves and dividers to keep the different decks and expansions separate. Works well at many player counts. Fun set collection game. | |

| Deck building card game with a twist. You have to balance between using your cards or putting them aside to make points at the end of the game. Challenging for 2 to 3 players, it can sometimes become frustrating at 5 or 6 players. The Premium Version is worth the investment (tarot size cards). | |

| Les effets des cartes sont diversifiés, peu redondants et autant pour nous que l’adversaire. Comprends les sleeves. On peut planifier nos strategies et cela plusieurs tours a l’avance. Le seul « hic » est qu’il est seulement disponible en anglais. | |

| Valley of the Kings est un jeu de deckbuilding très simple, mais également très efficace! On recrute des cartes à partir d'une pyramide au centre de la table, qui s'ajoutent à notre deck, le rendant ainsi de plus en plus puissant! Mais pour faire des points et remporter la partie, on doit sacrifier de façon permanentes nos précieuses cartes! Un jeu avec beaucoup de variété! | |

| Bon deckbuilding avec matériel de fou | |
| Un bon deckbuilding avec des cartes surdimensionnées (et les sleeves qui vont avec sont incluses!) à multi-use avec du set collection. Chaque tour, on devra décider quoi faire de chacune de nos cartes ; l'enterrer dans notre tombe (c'est ce qui rapporte des points), utiliser son pouvoir spécial ou prendre sa valeur d'achat pour se procurer des nouvelles cartes. Le fait que le marché des cartes soit une pyramide qui ''s'écroule'' est plutôt cool et original. Mais le gros + de cette boîte, c'est son matériel et sa variété. Dans cette édition, vous avez les 2 extension ''majeures'' du jeu comprises, et une foule de suggestions pour mélanger les sets de cartes entre le jeu de base et les extensions. Je n'ai pas encore essayé de jouer en solo, mais j'ai vu qu'il en existait deux modes ! Une valeur sûre, c'est juste dommage qu'il ne soit pas en français. |

| Dans la même lignée que Dominion, Valley of the Kings offre plusieurs interactions intéressantes et une excellente rejouabilité. La mécanique de mettre des cartes de côté (dans sa tombe) pour pouvoir les calculer en tant que points offre des choix stratégiques qui font que je préfère celui-ci aux jeux du même genre. J'ai bien hate de voir si des expansions s'ajouteront. À essayer! | |

| Bon petit jeu de construction de deck, simple à apprendre mais qui nécessite de faire des choix parfois difficiles. Les cartes de format plus grandes sont visuellement très belles et le jeu peut s’appliquer à tous types de joueurs, débutants autant qu’experts. A essayer! | |
