| An interesting twist to Magic the Gathering | |
| In my opinion, this is a great set and I would give it 5 stars, but unfortunately it is discontinued and now sells at about twice its original cost, hence the 4 stars. That being said, Imaginaire had the best offer. This set is great for casual multiplayer, with friends or family members already very familiar with Magic the Gathering. The oversized Plane cards (there are over 80, many with awesome graphics!) have specific abilities that affect every player. Only the top card is active at any given time, but there are opportunities to change it at nearly every turn. In other words, some of the game conditions change constantly as you move to a new plane and you have to adjust. Its virtually impossible to predict a winner until the very end. The pre-constructed decks are fairly good as such things go, and well balanced for this type of play, but nothing prevents you from using you own decks, which works fine too. | |
