Indeed, for several years no new material has been published regarding these phenomena, and this book bridges the informationgap by listing approximate values and illustrating most error types with enlarged area photographs.
The book is also an usefull reference for the numismatist with no interest in errors as it outlinesthe manufacturing processes involved in producing the blanks and diedused for the minting of Canadian coins.
An honest attempt has been made to explain how the various error coins can occur, and thebook also included a group of illustrated "errors" which could only have been manufactured by mint employees for sale to collectors of these oddities. These are listed under the heading "Back Door Specials".
