From J.B. Howell, co-designer of Flotilla, Gates of Mara blends upgradeable worker placement with layered area control mechanics. You can lead reptilian Dragonkin, the amphibious Goblins, the insectoid Antids, or the arboreal Elves.

| La qualité des composantes est excellente, la cadence de jeu est assez rapide pour permettre un jeu fluide en diminuant le temps d'attente entre les joueur. La dynamique entre les différentes catégories et spécialités des membres de chaque race permet une quantité de stratégies des plus différentes et uniques pour amener la victoire. | |
