Description
The game is played in rounds. The player sets up the base character and all the equipment equipped. This represents every player as a fully equipped dungeon delver.
Each round, the start player (the person who challenged the dungeon last or the last player to be in a dungeon) can choose to draw a card from the monster deck or pass their turn.
If they choose to draw, they can do one of two things: (1) keep it and de-equip an equipment or (2) place it face down in the dungeon. Placing it face downin the dungeon creates the dungeon deck and fills the dungeon with monsters that the challenger will have to face later. If they choose to pass their turn, they cannot participate in the rest of the round. Once only one person is left after all the other players have passed their turn, that player then becomes the challenger and must go into the dungeon with only the equipment he has equipped.
The player then flips cards off the dungeon deck and fights the monsters within. Some equipment allow you to null the enemy damage or be able to withstand it by increasing your HP. If the player survives the dungeon with at least 1 HP, they win that round. If not, they lose. The players thenreshuffles all the cards to make a new monster deck and re-equips allthe equipment to start a new round.
The game ends when someone has won twice or one player is the last man standing.
Welcome to the Dungeon includes four different sets of character cards whereas Dungeon of Mandom has only a single character.

Good game | |
This is a good game that you can carry everywhere, it play really short and is exciting. We had a great laugh, its a game of chicken and the bluffing part can turn an casual drink night in a dungeon delving and bolstering contest! At this price there is no double thought. |

Welcome To The Dungeon | |
This is an amazing tiny game. The rules are simple to learn and the art work is fun. Having different adventurers changes the strategy and excitement. I played with adults and children as young as eight. I was surprised by how much fun came in this little box. |

Great game, pairs well with the re-release/expansion
This game was quite tricky to track down, but when I saw that it was in stock in St. Bruno, I made the trip and was very happy I did. The game has great build quality and art, and works well with the expansion/re-release Welcome Back to the Dungeon. |

Great small box game | |
I have enjoyed a few of the games in the mini game series and this one is no exception. This is a fast bluffing and push your luck game that is similar to the game Skull. The artwork is nice and the components are of high quality. |

Clever Idea, Fun Group Game
This is basically a game of "chicken," or "liar's dice": for a chosen hero (1 of 4) armed with equipment, each player takes turns either adding a secret enemy card to the dungeon, or removing an equipment. Players can also "pass" and leave the round. The last player remaining has to quest the hero into the dungeon, getting a point if they survive, and losing a point if they fail. It's a great idea, and not too complex. The comical art and quality of the pieces / cards are great. I suspect "surviving" the dungeon doesn't occur often, although good strategic players will try to make the dungeon seem harder than it actually is to get the points themselves. Other minor issues: there's nothing in the box to help you track a hero's health (you can use your dice, or a notepad, to track it), and there aren't many options when facing a dungeon enemy. "Welcome Back To The Dungeon" fixes this, by providing 4 new heroes, a health board, equipment that breaks after one use, and some unique special monsters whose order in the dungeon matters. That sequel can be played by itself, or combined with this first set. Welcome to the Dungeon: 4.0 / 5.0 Welcome Back to the Dungeon: 4.5 / 5.0 |
