Asterix 2024 10€ Colorised Silver Coin
Asterix and the Olympic Games: Fighting
This collector coin in colorized silver highlights sport through a humorous pose in which Obelix and a Roman choose to indulge in the art of pugilism. Little Dogmatix, who seems impressed by the situation, has decided to hide behind Obelix. The field of the coin is also engraved with elements relating to sport and Olympism.
The reverse side features the cover of the comic strip "Asterix at the Olympic Games", with Asterix proudly bearing the face value of the coin.
Translating comic book characters is an interesting but perilous exercise. The transition from comic strip to volume must faithfully transcribe the clear line of Uderzo’s and Conrad‘s work. These coins are the faithful representation of a graphic line proper to the french artist, it is a tribute in three dimensions paid by the craftsmen of Monnaie de Paris to the universe of Asterix.
