5-cents
The reverse re-creates the beloved 1967 five-cent circulation coin design by Canadian artist Alex Colville, and features the side profile of a rabbit. Captured in outstanding detail, the engraved rabbit is seen mid-hop, its forelegs elevatedas its strong hind legs propel it forward. The image is enhanced by the application of selective gold plating over the rabbit and all alongthe coin’s rim. The reverse also features the engraved face value “5 CENTS”, the word “CANADA” and the commemorative dates “1967-2017”.
This coin is the fourth issue of the Big coins with Alex Colville designs.
The first coin of the series, released in October 2016, depicts the 1-dollar coin.
The second coin of the series,  released in December 2016, depicts the 25-cent coin.
The third coin of the series,  released in February 2017, depicts the 10-cent coin.
The fourthcoin of the series, released in April 2017, depicts the 5-cent coin.
The fifth coin of the series, who will be released in June 2017, depicts the 50-cent coin.
The sixth and the last coin of the series, who will be released in August 2017, depicts the 1-cent coin.
