H.R.H. The Prince of Wales (Prince Charles), Heir Apparent to the British Throne

Prince Charles, the eldest son of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, was born on November 14, 1948 andwas christened Prince Charles Philip Arthur George.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh decided The Prince should go to school rather than have a tutor at the Palace. He attended Hill House School, Cheam School and Gordonstoun, where his father had been educated.

At the age of 18, The Prince of Wales spent two terms as an exchange student at Australia's Timbertop. Cambridge University and Trinity College were next in his academic career. There, The Prince studied archeology, anthropology, history and graduated in 1970.

The Prince married Lady Diana Spencer on July 29, 1981. They had two sons; Prince William and Prince Harry. Their marriage was dissolved on August 28, 1996 and nine years later, The Prince married Mrs. Camilla Parker Bowles.
