Orcas, the largest membersof the dolphin family, are among the cleverest mammals on earth; theyhunt fish, seals, squid, turtles, birds, other whales, in pods of up to 59 individuals. They are extremely social whales with highly cooperative hunting methods. Pods have complex social traditions and readilydevelop new hunting methods that are then passed to successive generations.
