Canada’s “pulsating” 5 oz. pure silver Peace Dollar is back for 2023. Each Peace Dollar is a powerful representation of Canada’s ongoing dedication to universal human rights and world peace. Before becoming Prime Minister of Canada, Lester B. Pearson was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize in 1957 for organizing the first UN peacekeeping force. In the decades since, UN peacekeepers have helped de-escalate conflicts and save lives throughout the world. That legacy of peace and international cooperation is reflected on the reverse of the 65.25 mm reverse of this 5 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin. It combines three extraordinary features: Ultra High Relief (UHR), rose gold plating (new for 2023), and a specially engineered pattern that pulses with hope for a peaceful and prosperous future.

 New for 2023: Rose gold plating. Each 2023 Peace Dollar coin features rose gold plating on its obverse and reverse, where the uplifting colour has been combined with UHR and pulsating technology to create a truly dynamic, high-contrast design.
 Second 5 oz. Peace Dollar issued by the Royal Canadian Mint and the first to feature rose gold plating.
 An inspiring allegorical image of peace (“PAX”) struck in Ultra High Relief (UHR).
 The allegory is backed by a pulsating pattern (Pulsating technology) that seemingly expands and contracts when the coin is tipped. The pattern is larger than the one featured on the 1 oz. Peace Dollar.
 On the coin’s obverse, the lasered/non-pulsating pattern is a magnified view of the one featured on the reverse.
 Also available in a 1 oz. 99.99% pure silver format and as a 1 oz. 99.99% pure gold coin.
 Mintage is limited to 1,250 coins worldwide.
