The successor to the Royal Canadian Mint’s Big Coin series of 5 oz 99.99% pure silver coins, The Bigger Picture zooms in on Canada’s classic circulation coin designs and zooms out to reveal a much bigger story. The first coin in the Bigger Picture series re-imagines Canada’s 10-cent circulation coin, shifting the focus to Bluenose’s legacy as a working fishing vessel, and it shines a silvery spotlight on the dorymen who were the backbone of the North Atlantic fishery.

 A different view of a classic. As a nod to Canada’s maritime history, this collectible’s reverse design captures the reality of life at sea in the time of Bluenose.
 A “new" view of Bluenose. Canada’s 10-cent circulation coin is re-imagined as an engraved portion of a new, expanded scene that focuses on Bluenose’s legacy as a working fishing vessel.
 5 oz 99.99% pure silver. Each coin in this series features a diameter of 65.25 mm (the same as the Big Coin series), which provides lots of room for elaborate art and complex engraving - including a maple leaf field pattern on the obverse.
