The 935 Porsche Martini was based on the road version of the 930 Turbo and was equipped with a 590 hp 2,857 cc 6-cylinder boxer engine. Porsche used the 935 in the 1976 racing season with its team Martini Racing Works in the branded world championship. The season began for the Martini with a 6-hour race victory at Mugello in March, shortly thereafter, followed by another triumph at Vallelunga. While a regulation related intercooler change slowed the Martini in the middle of the season, the team then came back heavily to win against its BMW rival in the final two races of the year and to enter the championship.
