Columbia Yew Tree
The reverse design celebrates the beauty of the Columbian forest by portraying one of its most captivating trees; the Western Yew. The design’s foreground features a gently sloping twig that has been painstakingly enhanced in colour to immediately draw the eye to its ruby red fruit and slender, vibrant green needles. In the background, massive tree trunks and lush growth fill the remainder of the design.
This coin isthe third issue of the Forests of Canada collection.
The firstcoin of the series, released in March 2015, depicts the Carolinian Tulip-Tree.
The second coin of the series, released in May 2015, depicts the Coast Shore Pine.
The third coin of the series, released in July2015, depicts the Columbia Yew Tree.
The fourth and the last coin of the series, released in September 2015, depicts the Boreal Balsam Poplar.
