Published first in the United States in 1943 and then in France in 1946, The Little Prince is Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's best-known work. This poetic and philosophical tale is an editorial phenomenon that is no less than the most widely read and best-known work of French literature in the world. In 2021, the Little Prince will celebrate his 75th birthday.

For the 75th anniversary of the Little Prince publication in France, Monnaie de Paris presents a series of coins and a mini-medal to celebrate the original work of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

The obverse of the coin highlights The Little Prince running with the Fox. The two companions are on the Little Prince's planet, which is verdurous. In the background, the stars and Saturn complete the scenery. The title "Le Petit Prince" and the “RF” mention are also visible on this side.

The reverse features the logo for the 75th anniversary of the Little Prince. The title of the book "The Little Prince" is available in several languages: French, English, German and Japanese.
