Dead of Winter: The Long Night is a standalone expansion for Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game that introduces the Raxxon location where horrible experiments will spill out into the town unless players can contain them.
The game has players at a new colony location trying to survive with new survivors against brand new challenges. Can you handle being raided by members of other colonies? Will you explore more and unravel the mysteries of the Raxxon pharmaceutical location to find powerful items but release stronger enemies? Or will you upgrade your colony to help it better withstand the undead horde? These are all choices you will get to make inthis new set, and if you want, you can mix in the survivors and cardsfrom the original set to increase the variety even more.

| This game has a lot of steps and actions to take. If you are a beginner it might not be the game for you. However it you are a medium or hard core player this game is exciting. I especially love trying to find the traitor |

| Excellent jeu! Complexité modéré, mais les tours se jouent quand même rapidement et il n'y a pas trop d'hyper-analyse pour arriver à faire un super combos de la mort-qui-tue (analysis paralysis). Ça reste assez "straightforward". Il y a la possibilité de rendre le jeu 100% coop ou encore coop avec objectif personnel ou même d'intégrer mécanique de traître. Le setup prend un peu de temps, mais relativement rapide comparé à plusieurs autres jeux coop (ex. Legendary, Gloomhaven). Il n'y a pas beaucoup d'objectifs différents (5 ou 6), mais ils changent beaucoup la façon de jouer. Il reste assez facile d'en créer de nouveau au besoin. Il n'y a pas de règle officielle pour solo mais j'ai joué plusieurs parties solo sans changer les règles et ça fonctionne très bien! J'ai bien aimé les nouveautées ajoutées au jeu de base, particulièrement les "improvements" et les bandits. Je n'ai pas encore essayé le module Raxxon, mais thématiquement, il m'attire beaucoup moins. On s'éloigne un peu du "Romero zombie" pour aller plus vers du Resident Evil avec des zombies spéciaux nés d'expérimentations en laboratoire. |

| Une expansion un peu décevante | |
| Je n'ai pas aimé l'expansion de Raxxon, les items qu'on peut y trouver sont vraiment trop puissants et peuvent casser le jeu et la tension. Les brigands sont correctes je joue avec eux de temps en temps. Le véritable attrait de cette expansion et afin d'avoir colonies en guerres qui, elle, est une très bonne expansion qui rafraichit le jeu |
