Many extra components will bring the gaming experience to the next level, such as double-layered player boards, special bags for hexes, 30% bigger tiles, or metal coins.
The Castles of Burgundy is set in the Burgundy region of High Medieval France. Each player takes on the role of an aristocrat, originally controlling a small princedom. While playing, they aim to build settlements and powerful castles, practice trade along the river, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travelers.
The game is about players taking settlement tiles from the game board and placing them into their princedom, which is represented by a Duchy board that is placed in the Player board.

| D'abord, je n'avais jamais joué au jeu Castle of Burgundy de base. Je me suis laissé tenter par l'édition spéciale pour l'essayer, je me disais qu'au pire j'aurai perdu quelques centaines de dollars. Holàlà, fausse alerte, la qualité et la quantité du matériel contenu dans la boite est juste incroyable et justifie complètement l'achat. Si comme moi vous n'avez jamais joué à Castles, cette édition est pour vous (P.S. Le jeu est vraiment excellent) | |

| Très beau jeu. Pas très difficile à apprendre, on lance deux dés à partir desquels on détermine les deux actions que l'on veut faire. Ce jeu est intéressant car une mécanique détermine qui sera le premier joueur et ça change tout au long de la partie. Ce jeu possède 16 plateaux joueurs. Le matériel est très beau dans l'édition spéciale que je recommande. Aucune partie ne se ressemble et à deux les parties ont une durée d'environ 1 heure. Cette édition comprend 11 mini extensions et la version solo. | |
