Ancient Civilizations of the Middle East (ACME) = A! | |
This game has heft. There is a nice big easy to read folding map, a TON of tokens and two books, rules and scenarios This game has simple mechanics that hide a greater complexity, like Avalon Hill's original Civilization boardgame. There are similarities between the two but I think ACME's mechanics are better. I love the way they handle religion and the sheer replayability - there are SEVENTEEN civilization cards, playable factions, in the game In the scenario book they give set ups for 1 to 6 players, random civ, plus a couple scenarios (like Rome (not normally a playable faction) vs. Parthia) I can see many opportunities to play a sit down afternoon game or a planned historical redo Flexible, aesthetically pleasing and plenty of mix and match... This is a game you will play more than once Also, note number of players. This game has actual solo rules, players card and all, not just some ad hoc fake a player set up |
